Join us in making a difference for Morgan Junction all-wheeled recreation!
MJAWA is a community stakeholder group that has received a Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Neighborhood Matching Funds grant to explore feasible ways to integrate all-wheels activities into the Morgan Junction Addition Project.
MJAWA is a grassroots organization consisting of parents from the community, leadership from crucial community partners like Skate Like A Girl, and seasoned Seattle skatepark advocates, who are
working in partnership with the Morgan Community Association (MoCA), Morgan Junction businesses, and Seattle Parks and
Recreation (SPR) to help activate the existing park and bring safe and accessible wheeled recreation to Morgan Junction!
We have partnered with West Seattle's own world-class skatepark design/build firm Grindline to develop a 1500 sq/ft design that can be integrated into the overall Morgan Junction Park Addition project. Together we are working in close coordination with our partners at Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Morgan Junction Community Association (MoCA), local businesses, community members, Gatewood Elementary, and other local community organizations to ensure equitable access and a design that reflects input from the community.
